These pictures from the Japanese Expo '90 (first large scale horticultural exposition in Osaka) show people experiencing a CD-i player by Fujitsu

The Expo '90 in Japan shows a CD-i setup by Fujitsu playing a Japanese encylopedia about vegetables and flowers. In the CD-i document the possibilities of the 'upcoming' Fujitsu Ten CD-i player are widely discussed. It is very rare to see pictures like these. The Expo '90 (国際花と緑の博覧会, Kokusai Hana to Midori no Hakurankai) was the first large scale horticultural exposition. CD-i was present here in Osaka, Japan, to show the newest technological advantages thanks to Fujitsu, a Japanese electronics company who was also participating in CD-i. Unfortunately, in the end they never released their CD-i player and they stepped out of the business before CD-i was officially launched.

In this player you'll recognize the prototype we've shown before of Fujitsu Ten. The people are using a CD-i trackball and browsing through a Japanese encyclopedia focused on flowers and vegetables, around the same theme of the Expo '90.
