I always wonder why Philips never released any CD-i material with the Aristona brand name. In the ninetees they used this brand, like many others, to attract a certain public, who were orienting electronics in a specific price range of a specific image. SBR was another brand, in the ninetees owned by Philips, mainly well known in Belgian areas. This is why in Belgium Philips released the SBR CD-i 4000. But as they did with quite a few Magnavoc CD-i products in USA, this SBR CD-i player was nothing more than the exact same Philips CD-i 470 player, with the SBR logo instead of the Philips logo. Anything else was the same, even the packaging did not get any different design. So it must have been purely about the name SBR, that probably was better known in Belgium rather than the brand name Philips. We've looked into a SBR CD-i player before, you can find it in this article.
