CD-i member Omegalfa shares with the community an increasing amount of CD-i capturing which we gladly experience and use. This time he shares with us his review of Secret Mission on CD-i, a game that was developed by Microids and released in Frane in 1995. In 1996, Philips released a multi-language version as well. You might remember that we extensively covered Secret Mission in this article, let's look if any new screens can bring us back more memories. Also interesting is to look up our archive of the other lost Microids CD-i projects: Evidence and the two Fort Boyard CD-i games.

The French version of CD-i Magazine was called "Generation CD-i" and in issue 4 they uncovered another french exclusive unreleased CD-i project by Microids, the same company who developed Secret Mission on CD-i. This time it is about "Fort Boyard", based on the television show that was/is popular in France (and many other countries). Microids has even developed a new version on current consoles, so it is truely a long running format. But the original is dated 1995 and was eventually released on PC, but according to Generation CD-i issue 4, this title was also in development for CD-i.

Microids is a french producer which is actually still today very active on the videogames market. In 1996 that same Microids released Secret Mission on CD-i, a very nice adventure game. As with many developers, it seems Microids did not just leave it at one game on CD-i: The Wikipedia page of Evidence: Last Report shows that in that time the French magazine CD Consoles actually previewed a CD-i version of this game. Evidence: Last Report is a point and click adventure game, in a first person view like in Myst.
