Thanks to the efforts of CD-i developer TwBurn on creating the CD-i homebrew game 'Nobelia' (which has been finished recently), the other CD-i developer, Gameblabla, found his ways to redevelop his CD-i homebrew game 'Super Quartet' again now based on the source code of Nobelia. The first time, in 2018, Gameblabla managed to develop Super Quartet based on the source code of Frog Feast.
Frog Feast was developed in 2006-2007 by CD-i member Charles Doty. Charles released a simplified source code after releasing Frog Feast. With this source code, other aspiring CD-i developers would have a chance to easily develop CD-i software. It took another 10 years before that happened, thanks to Gameblabla.
However, he had trouble finding out how the sound was working and he was only able to create a basic version at least. In our making-of of this game he shares the troubles he had while developing it. He also promised that, when better tools and a better source code would be available, he would love to try it again.
That time has come thanks to CD-i member TwBurn, who created his own CD-i title: Nobelia. Gameblabla: "Working on redoing Super Quartet on CDI based on Nobelia's source code this time with the new GCC-based toolchain. I would like to thank TwBurn for Nobelia and murachue for his updated toolchain (that works on Linux!).
