Japanese magazine Famitsu holds a huge archive of game related news and recently Archive member 'JapaneseMagazinesScans' is uploading and sharing scans of full editions. You can support his work here. Inside these issues, sometimes a little CD-i information pops up as well, as CD-i was also released and demonstrated in Japan at various exposition shows. One of them was the Electronic Show 1991. Famitsu reported this fair in issue 0149, published October 1991. Twitter member GDRI (Game Developer Research Institute) spotted the CD-i article here. It shows a page full of rare Japanese CD-i titles, including Golgo 13 and Mah-Jong. It also shows the Panasonic CD-i player, next to the Sanyo CD-i player (both previously shows here). It is yet  unclear whether these are mock-ups or real prototypes. It is known for example that during the 1991 Firato exhibition, this Panasonic CD-i player was also shown but a Philips CD-i player was underthe table to play CD-i. The Panasonic player here was a mock-up, to show what was coming and possible. In the end, Panasonic didn't want to take the risk.
