Hieroglyph on CD-i is a simple puzzle slider. It has an Egyptian theme and it works similar like the CD-i game Master Labyrinth: The player controls the layout of a maze made of tiles by sliding them from left/right or up/down. There is a character inside which you help to escape the maze. The game offers 3 difficulties, which are increasing in speed. (slow, normal, fast).
The Russian CD-i game 'Hieroglyph' is one of the most peculiar releases
the CD-i has enjoyed to date. This game originated from Russia as the
first in a series of three games as stated in Heiroglyph's manual. The
two other games are named "Magic Eraser" and "BMP Puzzle". While
developed in Russia, these games were released by ZYX Multimedia in
germany. As we understand more of the work that was done by ZYX, we
expect these CD-i games, including Hieroglyph, to also have a dedicated
Russian release and that these titles were licensed by ZYX to bring them
to a broader market.
