While browsing through some classic CD-i documentation in our archive I see some references to a unreleased design of a Philips CD-i joystick. The best picture you can see above. Just like the touchpad in the middle of this picture, we recently discovered it actually exists, so I wouldn't be surprised to see if Philips also made prototypes of this Philips CD-i joystick. A joystick is what was actually lacking from the wide range of pointing devices that Philips offered. Why was that? The joystick was more popular in revious console dormats it seems. In the end, third party developer Tecno Plus actually did release a CD-i joystick, but this Philips version remained unreleased.
