With original credits to the composer Jim Andron, the Tetris CD-i soundtrack has been uploaded to Freshtunes and with that it is now available on Spotify and Apple Music. CD-i member vvs discovered this entry today. Vvs: "Huh, I wonder who's behind these. Unfortunately they do not sound like remastered mixes I don't see why the composer would upload ingame masters when he has the original masters. Is someone here in good contact with Jim Andron? Maybe it would be worth asking if he knows about this. This just looks a little suspicious." Jim Andron is known for creating various soundtracks on CD-i, but his contributions to Tetris CD-i are by far his most famous pieces. Jim Andron was in fact busy with the possibilities of an official re-release: "As I'm not writing much anymore, it's nice to know that something i did twenty five years ago had a positive effect on folks. I do have the original mixes, and I'm working with some guys to figure out a way to release it. hopefully, we'll get there. I just went and made 24 bit wav files of the original pieces, plus a faster version of one piece that wasn't used, and a song I wrote about the same time that sounds quite similar. Just trying to figure out what to do with them!"

There was a vinyl release one year ago and Jim Andron talked before here about his wish to make it available again, but this upload comes as a surprise. The original vinyl release also caused troubles as it was not officially licensed. Jim Andron about this: "The situation has been resolved. The gentleman who created it did try to contact me about this, and I never saw it. We have even discussed another release as that was a limited run. Stay tuned. If you want to hear what I’ve been doing lately, go to http://SoundCloud.com, type in my name." Jim Andron also answered to our question if he was aware of this release: "Umm, no, I didn’t. I’ll look into it." Links to the sources that are available as of today:
To be continued!

[Thanks, vvs]
