The Zelda CD-i Re-animation Collaboration finished to re-create all animations of the first two Zelda CD-i titles featuring 200 animators

It started as a highschool project, but eventually around 200 animators contributed to a project to recreate all animation cutscenes of Link: Faces of Evil and Zelda: Wand of Gamelon on CD-i. These first two Zelda CD-i games have always seen a lot of attention, in both good and bad ways, but these new animations of all cutscenes are actually impressive and look very professional, at least it shows this labour is done with attention to detail. It is a true tribute to the Zelda CD-i titles. Some of the sequences have been rearranged for a better viewing experience. But in the screenshots below you can only see the different style, so at the bottom you can watch the comparison movie. Website NintendoSoup described it as following: "Recently, more than 200 animators gathered together to reanimate many of the game’s cutscenes in a special tribute. They’re still as strange and bizarre as before, but now you get to re-experience all of them with a fresh coat of paint!"

There is actually also a Hotel Mario CD-i Re-animation Collaboration, its cutscenes received the same kind of treatment by a variety of animators. Find more details in the video on the bottom:

[Thanks, The Zelda CD-i Collaboration Project. Thanks to CD-i member James Boner for sharing the news with us. An overview of all the artists who contributed to this project can be found here]
