We don't see often a Japanese CD-i player and even less one that still has the original packaging. From these pictures it seems the Japanese Manna Space CD-i player was packaged in a Philips box, which seems weird and confusing for consumers. The manual clearly shows the Japanese details and still the Philips logo on the top. CD-i member Patrick Selten: "The manual has the Philips name on it, but you can clearly see Japanese writing on the manual. The box is just a plain Philips CD-i 550 box, but if you look close at the manual you see it matches the 550 on the box. But on the player you can clearly see 450. Must have been a bit confusing for the consumer." A while back CD-i member Gluon Van found another Manna Space 550 which turned out to be a Magnavox 450/17.
Interesting, a previous Manna Space auction came in this box below. Was this coloured box also a sleeve? This other Manna Space had the Magnavox bumper in the shell menu... But it could also be a shipping box:
