Playing CD-i titles via RetroPie on a Raspberry Pi, it seems like a future project, but it is really possible. The MVGS4 mini console even takes this one step further: They created a homemade PCB to convert a CD-i controller into a universal signal which works on the Raspberry Pi as well: Now you can play CD-i titles with the original CD-i controller on RetroPie. Of course this was not exclusively done for CD-i but the MVGS project covers many other game console controllers. The fact it supports CD-i is of course special to us! Member Patrick Daubaire about the project: "In the photo below the mini video game console which is located in front in the center and the handheld video game console in front on the left works with Raspberry Pi, homemade Pcb and Retropie. In the center on the right it's a smartphone. All gamepads in this photo are officials controllers and are compatibles with them. In fact these are official controllers that have been universalized (with a new Pcb and a new connection socket) and now are compatible with all existing video game systems in the market (game consoles, computers, tablets and smartphones). To sum up with these two video game consoles or your smartphone you can play more than 20 years of video game history with all original controllers (universal ones)."

MVGS stands for Retrogaming MVGS Multi Video Games System, click on the link to learn more about this project. We'll report our hands-on review once we have one in the Interactive Dreams office!
