CD-i member RetroMan possibly has the largest CD-i collection of us all. Including all the 'commonly available' CD-i games, video cd's, reference CD-i's about music, art or technology and all the other CD-i compatible formats, sometimes a rare CD-i disc pops up. Today he shows us a demo copy of Harvest of the Sun: Vincent van Gogh Revisited.  Harvest of the Sun: Vincent van Gogh Revisited was first released in The Netherlands in 1991, titled "Oogst van de Zon - Leven en Kunst van Vincent van Gogh". It was developed by Jean-Pierre Isbouts as director, who was actually a dutchman. He worked at Philips Interactive Media Systems and thanks to his initiative he got his own production group called Philips ArtSpace. Philips ArtSpace made a series of art CD-i titles, bringing the art of various great artists to the television, including Rembrandt and Vincent van Gogh, as well as the art of a specific time like the Renaissance. Harvest of the Sun was the first, being a launch title in Europe on CD-i.

The english title is "Vincent van Gogh Revisited" which is a little misleading as the other languages don't say anything about a 'revisit' and it looks like this might have been a sequel or updated original. As this demo cd-i is still sealed, we can't have a simple look inside, but I'm interested to look at the CD-i itself!

And finally, some images of the final retail product:
