On this disc many interesting ideas and companies come together to bring a view on how the future may look like. It was 1997 and the joint initiative "TV Interactief" was started by Philips, Wehkamp, Rabobank, ABN AMRO bank and the Township of Eindhoven. At that time, Eindhoven was still the hometown of Philips and with that the headquarters of Philips CD-i. It was a time between the upcoming internet and the known possibilities of the CD-i format. With CD-Online you could go online via a CD-i player and by combining these two, Lost Boys created a platform around TV Interactief that also could receive updates via CD-Online. This specific disc was about the Township of Eindhoven, showing what ways there are to relax, where to shop, services around living and working and genral info about Eindhoven. The technical interesting part is its connection with CD-Online, so information and offers could be changed and updated. To reach a wide public, they distributed this disc in Eindhoven to every citizen, which was remarkable of course as not everyone owned a CD-i player!
The home menu featured a rotating diamond (like the one that is on the cover) turning around in full motion digital video, a beautiful graphically impressive animation thanks to all its reflections!
