This CD-i Bridge disc offers 9 videos of "the most famous German band in the field of electronic music", which are only playable on a CD-i player or a compatible Windows/Mac computer. It is a music CD-i that is also compatible in a standard audio CD player. It appears to be difficult to rip the video and music of these kind of discs. CD-i member Rmi0 tried to rip the audio and video of this disc but didn't succeed. Rmi0: "I want to extract video content from an old CD-i containing both audio tracks and video. After researching the format on Internet, I have tried several approaches, including ISOBuster and an unofficial CD-i filesystem driver for Windows 95/98/ME. Unfortunately, neither was able to read the content. I think it's because the drive that I'm using does not support the format so it does not allow reading from CD-i tracks. So here's my question: is there a model of external CD drive that has better chance of reading CD-i tracks? If it matters, the specific CD-i is this."
The most famous German band in the field of electronic music, Tangerine Dream, is featured for the first time on CD Rom/ CD-I. This disc, which you can enjoy on PC with CD Rom player, on Philips CD-I equipment and, if you only wish to listen the two musical tracks which Tangerine Dream have especially recorded in world exclusive for New Age Music And New Sounds, on traditional audio CD equipment as well. A unique opportunity I appreciate and get to know better the history of the band which laid the foundations for new age music.
It is interesting to read how they position these new type of music CD's, focuing on new ways to promote their music and adding a interactive component: "This CD Rom CD-I contains a veritable store
room of audio and video data: a collection of pholographic and video material, an Interactive interview with the musicians of the band and the complete list of their recordings. And all this is further enriched by two pieces, "Catwolk” and "Quasar", especially written ond performed by Tangerine Dreom for the traditional sound part of this CD: a world exclusive. A fascinating world, an adventure in musical research and emotions, that we offer you by means of the most advanced multimedia technology."
