The Philips CD-i offers some exclusive games that also have beautiful soundtracks. Our community often share the love of the music in Burn:Cycle, The Apprentice and also Tetris. The CD-i has an exclusive version of Tetris including a beautiful relaxing soundtrack made by composer Jim Andron. Next to Burn:Cycle, the Tetris CD-i soundtrack might be the most memorable and loved one. We just shared the soundtrack on our Philips CD-i Zone, so please come by and listen.
Recordlabel Unfortunateface picked up the rights to release an official vinyl version of the original Tetris CD-i soundtrack, thanks to the original composer Jim Andron. It was a limited pressing of 500 pieces, released earlier this year in February. CD-i member HeathV404 comments: "What an incredible record. This album sounds more vaporwave than most of my actual vaporwave records. Incredible pressing and it's just oozing with early 90's tech charisma. Hand numbered, I snagged 165/500. The vinyl version sounds great, it is a very quiet pressing and sounds rich. For around 20 dollars you seriously cannot go wrong with it. I've been listening to it all day on both of my turntables and have zero complaints."
Sean Patrick from Recordlabel Unfortunateface: "This is the first of 3 vinyl releases Im putting out this week, this one is the 1992 soundtrack to Tetris on the Cd-i system. I made it partly because it is the godfather of all vaporwave music and partly because it slaps hella hard and is super relaxing simutaneously. It has been remastered just for this release with deeper bass levels and profits go directly to the original composer Jim Andron."
Unfortunately the first pressings are sold out. Interactive Dreams is working on a repress together with Unfortunateface, but it depends on the demand. Who would like to order a vinyl copy of the Tetris CD-i soundtrack for 20 dollars excluding shipping?
[Thanks, Sean Patrick Daigle, Unfortunateface]
