Do you remember there are a few freeware CD-i games available for download? In 2004, BEPL published two ISO files of two prototype CD-i games: Solitaire and Tic Tac Toe. Interactive Dreams tested the free games with CD-i Emulator, and ended with a great package including the CD-i Emulator and two free games. These games are perfectly playable in the latest CD-i Emulator version and even run fine in the MAME CD-i Emulator. CD-i member blurb69 contacted BEPL and made it possible for the CD-i community to enjoy these games.
Solitaire is in our opinion the more interesting game, as Tic Tac Toe, while fun in two player, it's over quickly. Solitaire takes up some thoughts and if you ever played an original game of Solitaire, you know this is not going to be easy! Tic Tac Toe has one major pro though, as it is playable with two players, so you can beat each other on television. Considering the small amount of two-player games on CD-i, Tic Tac Toe is a worthwile add to the multiplayer CD-i library.
While the original link to the BEPL website doesn't work anymore, you can now download the games from our Philips CD-i Zone:
