In 1991, when Philips celebrated its 100th anniversary, they published a book that would tell the story of Philips from starting as a lightbulb manufacturer in Eindhoven to the large electronics company that it had become in 1991. If you are interested in Philips, this book will give you lots of love about the company, including many pictures of their products and inventions as well as stories about people and business related subjects. The name was in dutch: Philips Honderd.
There are classic products, advertisements, social activities, a layout of all departments that Philips has in The Netherlands, technical innovations and much more. They used thousands of references to compile it: archives, year reports, employee inputs, magazines and movies. It was written and compiled by Sergio Derks, Jeff S. Haneveer, Frans van der Put en Guus Bekooy. (who held over a summarized 125 year of Philips experience together).
CD-i was born just after the release of this book, so you won't find a lot about CD-i in it. The 180 CD-i set however is mentioned in it. More interesting for us is that in 1992 Philips made a digital version of the 'Philips 100' book for the CD-i format. It's quite a rare disc including a lot that was also featured in the book. In the main menu you can choose a time frame or browse through major events or product categories.
At this time of writing, you can experience this title yourself on CD-i in the Home Computer Museum in Helmond, The Netherlands.
