Another lost CD-i project that needs more attention: We have a CD-i prototype of Lego Mindstorms

This is another existing CD-i prototype, and in possession of the Interactive Dreams Team. However, the title needs a peripheral device like a different kind of controller in order for the applications to run. Probably it has something to do with an IR device to let the Mindstorms robot run independently from the CD-i, but the CD-i was used to program the robot and the communication between robot and CD-i was done by means of an unknown device. The DOS version also came with a specific IR device, so we expect this was also developed on CD-i. Unfortunately, we just have a disc...

The Lego Mindstorms CD program was converted to CD-i but probably it only exists in prototype status. Since we have no idea how to run the program, only the CD-i file system hints at all the possibilities this CD-i would have had to offer. The same great ways to program the popular Lego robots, CD-i would have been an ideal format to go for. Sadly, great potentials like this never reached it to the (professional?) market.

The CD-r prototype is with our CD-i member Erronous and he can't start the disc without something like an external device, a controller-type or who knows what else? I can't find any reference elsewhere so as long as the original writer doesn't show up this is all I can tell.

Is there any other CD-i member who remembers anything of Lego Mindstorms on CD-i?

[Thanks, Erronous]
