SPC Vision was a well-known CD-i developer and they developed some of the very best CD-i games: The Apprentice, Dimo's Quest, Steel Machine and Alien Gate, all were created by the same team in Oss/Eindhoven, The Netherlands. It's impressive to note what they all have created on CD-i: Alien Gate (CD-i, 1993), Steel Machine (CD-i, 1993), Dimo's Quest (CD-i, 1994), The Apprentice (CD-i, 1994), Philips Media Encyclopedia (CD-i, 1995) (exclusive for the Netherlands), Het Staat in de Sterren (CD-i, 1996) (exclusive for the Netherlands), Lingo (CD-i, 1994 / Windows, 1997) (exclusive for the Netherlands), Sport Freaks (CD-i, 1996), Uncover featuring Tatjana (CD-i, Windows, 1996), Lucky Luke: The Video Game (CD-i, 1996), Accelerator, (CD-i, 1997), Golden Oldies I: Guardian & Invaders (CD-i, 1997) and finally Golden Oldies II: Blockbuster & Bughunt (CD-i, 1997).
But in 1995 SPC Vision also created a regional release in Germany based on the famous german Maus character. "Die CD-i mit der Maus". It is not clearly mentioned that this title is created by SPC Vision. It's a children's title about farms, containing educational movie clips and a number of minigames, with lots of small animations for the Maus characters. There are also a few sing-along songs. The basic organisation is by season (spring, summer, autumn, winter). Its a DV title and completely in german. The cover doesn't mention SPC Vision, but the on-disc credits do. The abstract file on the disc says: "Die CD-i mit der Maus - Auf dem Bauernhof Children's title based on the well known childrens figure "Die Maus". The bibliographic file gives away the secret: "Maus auf dem Baurnhof Production T1 New Media; Technical realisation SPC Vision BV". Also the copyright file says (c) 1995 SPC/Vision - T1 New Media.
Die CD-i mit der Maus: Auf dem Bauernhof is an educational title for children. In the game players get to learn all about activities on a farm. Through a number of movies, animations and mini-games the players learn such trivial knowledge as how bread and cheese are made and where milk and honey come from. Also included are some sing-along songs in the same theme. Everything is presented by "Die Maus" (the mouse) a well known German children's figure at the time.
