Nice historical value but as it doesn't function anymore it's also a bit of useless hardware now. But still this CD-i Internet kit holds a large history. It was also released in USA under the brand Web-i. Can you imagine in 1996 you could buy this in The Netherlands for 300 NLG? The modem came with it and you had to pay a monthly fee to CD-Online in order to browse the internet. The coolest thing was the worlds first online game that was released on CD-i: RAM Raid! This was running on the same engine as the CD-i game Atlantis: The Last Resort. The speed of the modem was limited to 14k4, but inside the CD-i player it was limited even more. We might never be able to see this one running again, but maybe one of you is clever enough in the future to mimick the CD-Online server to see how it was running in 1996.
