School 2000

With this CD-i disc, kids between 9-13 would learn a lot about pet animals. The NBLC (Dutch centre of libraries and readings) chose 36 books, both fictional as educational, that you can read on screen. The stories are accompanied by songs (including karaoke versions) thanks to Radio Lezerstraal. The disc can even read the stories for you, if you don't want to read yourself. It's a full listening experience.
Finally there is a trivia game: The disc will test your knowledge about the books you read from this CD-i program. The game is called "Ken je beessie, ken je boek"

The disc is produced by NIAM and Philips. They initiated the international multimedia program School 2000. This CD-i disc is a part of that.Originally it cost 55 NLG and there was additional education material going with it. In 1995 it was sold to schools, in 1997 it was also available to consumers. As this edition was low on numbers and exclusive to The Netherlands, this disc is very rare.

[Thanks, Ruudos]
