This kiosk system was advertized in a german CD-i flyer - Philips promoted these kiosk CD-i systems as a way to reach a wider public

In a time when Internet was not mainstream at all, Philips looked for ways to promote CD-i to a wide publix and these kind of kiosk systems were suggested by third party companies to help CD-i being displayed in several (professional or commercial) places. This specific unit was advertized in a German flyer and was in fact a simple system that in theory could handle kinds of console brands, although this setup nicely fits the CD-i 220 and a front panel to hold the thumbstick and even some flyers. The side bars hold a turnable rack of titles that are available on the platform. In The Netherlands we had different kind of kiosk systems but we learnt that Philips co-operated with several local companies to help them with these kiosk systems, these were not built by Philips themselves. Still, when I think of CD-i, I often think of these kiosk systems that were all over the place: The library, the hospital, the supermarket....
