This CD-i disc was offered to customers of The Evoluon in Eindhoven. The Evoluon was the home of the Philips Competence Centre, Philips also organized various internal affairs and exhibitions here. The Philips Learning Centre also used The Evoluon for their classes. In The Nineties, the original Evoluon Museum was already closed and Philips used the 'rings' (the ring-shaped floors in the centre of the building) to showcase the Philips range of products including innovations and related topics.
Of course, CD-i was also present here, with various CD-i kiosks at the top floor. This CD-i disc was an interactive journey through The Evoluon of that time, showing you what was on the rings in a 3d-animated way, beautifully done. The intro was remarkable as well, starting flying in the desert with a nice soundtrack, going through a metro subway that was hidden inside a rocket mountain. The design was excellent. If you can hunt this title down for your CD-i collection, it is well worth it.
The 3d animations were created by NeoGeo, you might remember this name as they also created the 3d graphics of The Lost Ride by Lost Boys between 1996-1998.
Be sure to watch it in full screen and turn on your audio:
