While refurbishing a 21TCDI30/00 TV/CD-i unit, CD-i member Muh Mullet took a few pictures of this rare TV/CD-i combination. We highly recommend him if you need to repair your CD-i player, he is based in The Netherlands and helped many of our CD-i members. The sticker reveals it was made in Italy and prepared for a full release. There are sometimes doubts in what way this product actually reached the market, as it appeared to be made in a very limited amount and we've never seen the packaging of this unit. Was it only meant for the professional market? I've seen it with my own eyes for sale in the internal Philips Personeelswinkel, but that may not represent a full market release. This 21TCDI30/00 TV/CD-i unit is technically a CDI210/40 mainboard combined inside a Philips television. We recently discovered an unreleased CD-i pointing device specifically made for this CD-i/TV unit, thanks to the Home Computer Museum, home of our full CD-i collection.
[Thanks, Muh Mullet]
