CD-i member KailoKyra has been busy digitalizing the CD-i reference books published by Addison Wesley around the early 1990's. Thoday he shares with us his scan of 'Introducing CD-i' - The official guide to Compact Disc Interactive from Philips Interactive Media Systems. These scans look incredibly good, how does he manage to do this? Does he scan them manually page by page? It looks like it was done by a professional company! Does the software help him with cutting, orientation and white balance? I'm really impressed how good it looks! Kailokyra: "They're made with a "borderless" scanner, page by page, so that the page is flat without too much shadow or deformations. Then I use abbyy to crop and clean these scans. Very useful software, albeit a bit expensive." From the book: "Compact Disc Interactive (CD-I) combines digital audio, graphics, animation, text, data and interactive capabilities on a 5" optical disc and is the ideal medium for entertainment, education and distribution of information. CD-I is a comprehensive multimedia standard backed by the world's largest suppliers of electronics products.
