A detailed look at the connection possibilities of the CD-i 605T player (a rare CD-i authoring player including Digital Video)

The Philips CD-i 605 playeD-i players that has authoring capabilities; it was used to develop CD-i software on thanks to the various connections and capabiltiies of this player. The 605T (T of 'CD Tray' instead of a caddy that was used in the original 605 player) offers the possibility to connect to a terminal, the hardware emulator and it could even be upgraded with FMV (The other CD-i authoring player, the CD-i 180/181/182 setup, was base-case only; it could not be upgraded with a Digital Video Cartridge). CD-i member 'Dynamic-Gaming-Twinz' shows us this as-new CD-i 605T player, closely looking at the connections.
 
 
This was an original authoring player, so it has more options to connect such as SCSI, the hardware emulators, ethernet and a printer. It also has the FMV extension slot on the top. RS 232C Ports on the rear panel can be used for general RS 232C based devices according to the application. The Emulator connects to the RS connection: this cinch connector provides commands for the external drive(s) or emulator. There's also digital out.
The Ethernet (thin wire, BNC) connector is located on the rear panel. It serves as an interface to all thin wire based LAN's using TCP/IP. The printer (25 pins SUBD) connector: This interface is fully compatible with the IBM PC implementation (Standard Parallel Port).
