Rare CD-i Chronicles #43 - Bavaria Film: Eine Interaktive Entdeckungsreise (Flux Multimedia GmbH, 1994)

We talked about the Bavaria CD-i a few weeks back and now that it was preserved at Archive.org it is again featured in the Rare CD-i Chronicles series, including HQ scans and even image and video material.  Flux Multimedia created in 1994 an interesting (and rare) CD-i of the film studios in Munich, Germany. Bavaria Film, not to be confused with the famous beer brand, is a film location that was founded in 1919, so it already exists over 100 years. This interactive exploration gives you the feeling as you were actually visiting it. It is also open for tourists in fact and you can find attractions including sets and props from The Neverending Story, Das Boot, Marienhof, and others.

When you count all compatible CD-i discs, including all video-cd's, CD-i bridge titles and CD-i Rainbow formats, there are thousands of discs to collect. Even today, after 20 years of CD-i researching, there are unknown CD-i titles popping up. As the CD-i community discovers so many titles lately, we are passing by all of them in a new series of chronicles on Interactive Dreams: The Rare CD-i Records.

On this disc, you mainly browse over a map of the Bavaria Film Studios. You can click on the various buildings and you can enjoy various video scenes (in full motion video) what has been shot here, to get an impression of the Film Studios that are built here.

Thanks to CD-i member Seventy777 (from the Preserve CD-i Blog) HQ scans are archived here (all without watermarks and available purely to share). He also published image and video material which you can find below:

And some unique video material:

[Thanks, Seventy777]
