We recently discussed the Marco Polo adventure game on CD-i, which put you in in the middle of trading and discovering the world of Marco Polo. Marco Polo was a Venetian merchant, explorer, and writer who travelled through Asia along the Silk Road between 1271 and 1295. His travels are recorded in The Travels of Marco Polo, a book that described to Europeans the then mysterious culture and inner workings of the Eastern world. In 1982, producer Giuliano Montaldo is an Italian film director and in 1982 he made a TV mini series about Marco Polo, based on this book. Marco itself was played by Kenneth Marshall. Now, the CD-i game Marco Polo actually used live sequences, by live actors. These scenes were not made specifically for the CD-i game itself, but developer Infogrames licensed these from the TV mini series. So in the Marco Polo CD-i game, you will also see Kenneth Marshall as Marco Polo and the plot roughly follows the plot of the TV mini series.
