In 1994 Philips created a wooden train, personalized for certain employees and selected customers. It holds a locomotive with CD-i 450 on it, a first wagon with 'Digital Video', a second wagon with 'CD-i 210 F3' and the last wagon with 'CD-i 220 F4'. I'm not sure what that F3 and F4 does stand for... But now we've seen about 5 pieces of this train, mostly originating from CD-i account managers but they all ended up in the hands of CD-i collectors. We're looking for stories about the history behind this: Was the train selected to forecast the fast ride of CD-i towards the market as what they hoped for? Or to project the CD-i family together to show they are connected to each other in one single standard? It is, even today, a remarkable and unique CD-i merchandising object. Who else owns the CD-i train and is willing to show some pictures of it?
