The news article claims that Sony and Philips are working on bringing the interactive CD to the market, focusing on the current MSX audience. They specifically claim the possibilites of the CD, to show high quality pictures and even audio, in a way that was previously not possible on MSX. It is interesting to see this positioning by Sony and Philips: It is a different view on competing against CD-ROM, and different than just pushing the CD-i as a new standard in 'interactive entertainment', leaving MSX behind.
