The 'Philips CD-i NEW' decals / stickers were mostly used on early CD-i 210 and CD-i 220 versions, some with a black background and some with a clear background

When you bought a CD-i 210 or CD-i 220 player in the early ninetees, there was probably a sticker on the front cover of the CD-i player with 'Philips CD-i NEW' on it. It seems like these stickers were only distributed on 210 and 220 players. CD-i member James Boner wonders if it might be a European exclusive, as his brand new USA CD-i 210 player doesn't have it. Probably many of you removed the sticker when you opened your new CD-i player box, but looking on the internet and we see many CD-i 210 and 220 players that still have this sticker on it. You'd expect when you bought a 'new' unopened CD-i player in 2020, this sticker should still be there, but apparently it was only used in a specific time (when CD-i was considered 'NEW') or just on specific revisions (we're not sure yet). Next to that, this sticker came with a black background as well as with a clear background. We have confirmation that it was on both USA CD-i models as well as on European CD-i models. It's a nice little puzzle: Who of you still have this sticker on it and what type of player do you own?

And sometimes, we spotted a different type of sticker, like this one on a CD-i 470:
