When you bought a CD-i 450 player by Philips in the Ninetees, you would generally get a 22ER9019 wired controller with it. It was a cheap version of the wireless thumbstick that you would get with a CD-i 210 or CD-i 220. However, Philips also sold the 22ER9019 wired thumbstick seperately. But this was not the same one as that was bundled with the CD-i 450 system.
As you see below, the retail version offered seperate buttons to play audio cd's (just as you could do on the wireless thumbstick) - Was it another trick by Philips to get the pricepoint of the CD-i 450 below the 500 dollar?
