We recently were able to play an educational title on CD-i: This time we tried Coktel Vision's CE1: Francais-Maths. The reason behind this is the secret levels of Gobliiins that are playable via the ADI CD-i titles. Gobliiins is a classic game by Coktel Vision that never got a CD-i release. We discovered years ago that classic Gobliiins levels were hidden inside the ADI CM2 disc. "Coktel Vision developed next tot their games projects also educational
titles under the ADI brand. These titles were used in classrooms in
France and Belgium (Coktel Vision was a french company) to learn
mathematics or languages on various levels. Now Coktel Vision actually
programmed classic Gobliiins levels inside this ADI title (level CM2,
but perhaps not all of them are tested yet). Those game levels become
available if you reach a certain level in the math exercises. A perfect
way to level up in mathematics!"
It seems, as we suspected, these Gobliiins levels are not only used in the CM2 disc: We tried the CE1 disc and the Gobliiins levels are inside as well. Moreover, you can also earn playable levels of Inca. Inca was another game by Coktel Vision which in fact got a CD-i release in 1993. So it's less interesting for us now: Gobliiins is unique on CD-i (and a great game!) but only playable on CD-i via these ADI discs.
