In October 1996, there was an original advertisement published by Infogrames in Power Play Magazine, issue 10/1996. Solar Crusade was in fact released on CD-ROM in 1996, but the CD-i version had to wait around three years. In 1999, finally the CD-i version came out. It was already planned in 1996, of course we are interested to find out why it took so long! In these years, the Philips Media offices were already closing and CD-i itself was more or less abandoned - Still Infogrames picked up this one and gave the CD-i community one final game: Solar Crusade was pretty amazing on CD-i, with great graphics and the same feeling as Chaos Control. This advertisement even has the old logo on it: The final CD-i cover was the first and only CD-i title showing the newer version of the Infogrames logo.
