These CD-i discs were a free give-away during the dutch Platen10Daagse, which was an event every year to promote the recordstores in The Netherlands. Every year a special CD was compiled and if you bought for a certain amount of records during this event, you would receive this CD for free. In the years 1994, 1995, this gift CD was interactive: There was a CD-i track built in to promote CD-i, both times it was a video on track 1: When you play the disc in a CD-i player including Digital Video Cartridge, the video would start. If you would play this disc in a regular audio CD player, the music would start (CD-i Ready). The one you see above by the way has a promotional video of CD-i inside that ends with an image of the official boxart of Discworld on CD-i. That was the first and only time we saw Discworld on CD-i on an official promotional video!
CD-i member Jaco van Schie: "In the Netherlands this is not rare at all. But maybe for other countries nice to see. In those years there ware special music promotion days called "de platen 10 daagse'. You get a free cd if you buy for some amount some cd's. In 1994/1995 you get a free cd including a bonus cd-i track."
