CD-i member Ekim Skirdneh shared with us scans of this rare professional CD-i. It is about learning sign language, published by TVA Mediaproducties BV and including content developed by Effatha. Effatha has a long history in the Netherlands. It was a Christian school for deaf people which, in a different form, still exists today. With this disc, Effatha was exploring ways to improve their educational lessons with CD-i. You can see here the first edition 'deel 1' so probably other editions were in the works. Like with other schools and institutions, the Effatha institute probably used CD-i players at school to learn their students sign language. Philips promoted school activities heavily with their 'School 2000' project, but this was already stopped in 1997, so other companies were used to publish these titles. It is certainly unique to have a console that was used for education as well as for games & video!

CD-i member Ekim Skirdneh confirms this is a two-disc set and it actually features Digital Video (although it's in this screen not easy to say if it is done like in Burn:Cycle (base case full motion video is also possible on cd-i!)

[Thanks, CD-i member Ekim Skirdneh]
