CD-i member Candela shared with us another interesting piece of CD-i trivia. He has this CD-i demo disc of Paint School 1, published by Japan Interactive Media in 1991. But, instead of other discs that we posted here, this disc does not have japanese characters on it. In fact, the language here is chinese and korean. Wait, was CD-i also released in China? CD-i member Candela: "They are incomplete, one missing front cover, other missing back cover. They might not be final versions as they were used for testing. I'm also not sure Paint School is Japanese since the characters don't seem to match the other picture here. There even seem to be 2 different languages on the cover. Interesting. I pasted the Paint School image in https://translate.yandex.com/ocr and it detects as Chinese."
CD-i member Gluon confirms: "Paint School 1 is Chinese and Korean, not Japanese.
We've seen dedicated Korean CD-i discs before that were bundled with LG CD-i players, but never a specific dedicated Korean CD-i disc, let alone a Chinese CD-i disc!
This might open a whole fourth CD-i market next to USA, Europe, Japan and perhaps China/Korea?
[Thanks, Candela, Gluon]
