New Media Systems used the same mouse design that was supplied with the CD-i 180 set as what was used with this Philips MSX computer

I know I keep looking at similarities between the MSX modules made by New Media Systems (department within Philips that later transformed into Philips Media Systems and started development of CD-i) and CD-i itself, as I find it an interesting history how times evolved and how the MSX business that New Media Systems was active in, evolved into the CD-i business.

MSX was in that respect the true predecessor of CD-i, without these experiences in MSX Philips would not have joint CD-i. But on to a small detail here: The mouse of the CD-i 180 set is exactly the same as the mouse that was supplied with the MSX:

This CD-i mouse was only compatible with the CD-i 180 by the way, in any other CD-i player this one doesn't work, but Philips designed a new universal CD-i mouse.

Below the CD-i Mouse: Do you remember the CD-i 180 modules that still have MSX ports on it? (we'll soon show you more)
