A close look at the details of the HiFi-miniset + integrated CD-i player released as the FW380i by Philips

The FW380i is a remarkable CD-i player as it was integrated in a mini HiFi set by Philips. This was of course possible because Philips, at that time, was also producer of audio products. When we look at consoles of different generations, it didn't happen often that a multimedia or console format was integrated in a audio set like this. As Philips was positioning CD-i as a broad multimedia platform, it makde sense to do combinations like this. Inside there was also room for the Digital Video Cartridge, but audio cd's could also be handled via the buttons on the front.
