CD-i member Simon Lock (Aergan) repairs a CD-i gamepad and he shows us how (picture guide)

This is the Philips CDi 22ER9021 Gamepad. If you buy a second hand gamepad that was heavily used, we sometimes see the wiring is damaged and the gamepad has stopped working. Sometimes they are offered cheap for spare parts and it might be that just the wiring is broken. Is it a difficult job? CD-i member Simon Lock (Aergan) shows us this is not the case and he shares with us some pictures about his own proces of repairing the wiring of the CD-i gamepad. Here, the pins were snapped inside the mini DIN 8 pin connector sadly, so the cable needed a replacement. These pics are a great refeence guide for us. If you have any questions, let us know!

It is a straight forward repair. The cables can be found under either Midi Pro, Apple serial, Framemeister patch, etc. Trace the pinout and replace it (You can find it on ICDIA). You can replace the connector instead if you have access to another pad to use as a reference.

[Thanks, Simon Lock (Aergan)]
