GEMA produced a free promo CD-i for the Marlboro Abenteur Team 1993: "Follow Your Dreams" includes a simple Micro Machines-style racing game

This "Follow Your Dreams" disc was a CD-i Ready disc published by Philip Morris as a promotional give-away during the Marlboro Abenteuer Team 1993 races. It was produced by GEMA, also a german company. The main purpose s perhaps its soundtrack, which you can find back on Discogs

The catalogue number is MARLBORO CD 93, which indicates a lot more has been made, but that's not easy to find. The label, Philip Morris GmbH, has quite a record for a tobacco company. But this title is interesting for us as it features a small (but very limited) racing game. It's probably not what you expect when I say it's a top-down racer like Micro Machines or Accelerator, because it's far more limited.

You can race on a track that is divided in 16 screens with a jeep, motor or even a boat (on water) or a horse. It depends on the surface that you come across in the track, but here's the catch: It's only a cursor/cross that you will move, not an actual jeep/boat/horse.

You move the cursor cross by pressing the d-pad in the direction you want to go. You manoeuvre your cursor cross through the landscape, avoiding the edges, avoiding the riffs, avoiding anything that doesn' t look like a road, pointing your cursor to the end. After this single track, that's it, there is just one track.

As a free give-away, it's nice they included something for CD-i, but it's very limited and not comparable to a real racing game. The rarity of a title that actually advertises the marlboro smoking brand is in fact what is interesting here, even for a CD-i title in 1993!
