UK based TecnoPlus offered two officially licensed CD-i controllers on CD-i including this control pad which is exactly the same model as the (second) Philips gamepad (the 22ER9021). The tecnoPlus version was named TP520 and was bundled with a splitter cable, comparable to 22ER9208 but with a slightly different design. Sometimes we see differently designed CD-i splitter cables on auction sites with no brand, these were originally bundled with these TecnoPlus products (at least we have not seen them sold seperately). The TP520 was originally also designed by Logitech. It is surprising why TecnoPlus saw a market in offering the exact same gamepad on the CD-i market as the Philips version. A few reasons to consider:
- TecnoPlus was able to offer them cheaper (I don't know any original prices, unfortunately. Do you?)
- TecnoPlus was even earlier on the market rather than Philips. Philips released this gamepad in 1994, maybe by buying out TecnoPlus?
- Original Philips accessories were not well distributed and available? (I highly doubt that)
