Electronics store 'Comet' was giving out a free audio CD to every CD-i Magazine reader showing them the Micro Machines demo CD-i. Of course Comet was also selling CD-i discs and hardware, so that's a great way to attract more people to your store. This way of marketing would never be possible again in these new times of streaming and internet, but it still give me warm feelings of a good CD-i era.
Ads like these always remind me of the Benelux' Superclub stores that we also had in my local village: One of the only places that were actually selling CD-i discs. Discount offers were rare on CD-i discs and I cannot recall any of these activities that Comet was using in The Netherlands, do you? Where did you buy your CD-i discs?
