These pictures show some new proof of the tight relation between Bang &Olufsen and Philips. Next to the integrated CD-i player that Bang & Olufsen released in 1997 (
The Beocenter AV5), they also actively distributed their own CD-i players. These players were simply Philips branded products, and I've only found proof of the distribution of the 550 model until now (perhaps due to the design?). The manual and instructions suggest that the ROM homescreen is in fact a Bang & Olufsen screen, which makes it interesting for us. Unfortunately this player was too expensive for us to pick up, but perhaps someone else will share more information soon.
The years again leave me in doubt, as it seems like the BeoCenter AV5 was available in 1997 (up until 2001), the references in the instruction manual and the package (including booklets) show dates between 1998 and 1999. That's again peculiar, as CD-i was already stopped by Philips at that time!
