The Japanese CD-i history has uncovered itself quite a bit this year, I've never seen so many stuff from Japan about CD-i ever before. Tetris CD-i is another peculiar release in Japan as it was not published by JIM (Japan Interactive Media) like the most of them and it also doesn't fit the range of titles that were released in Japan by Philips Interactive Media America itself. Instead, this title was published by Japan Marantz. Perhaps Philips, before the joint publishing with Pony Canyon, they teamed up with Marantz, but to me it's unclear why this title has a different publisher. It's interesting nonetheless and nice to know some Japanese CD-i history!
