To our knowledge, the only cd-i's released in 1998, and showing this year on the cd-i and/or inlay.
Here we have (clockwise from top left): The Lost Ride, P.A.W.S, Rollerball Basic Skills and Journeys through Victorian London.
The Lost Ride is a cutting edge game graphically, and pushes the cd-i to it's absolute limits. It shows what the machine is capable of, but contains bugs. P.A.W.S. is extremely rare and contains 2 games in one. Firstly, you take a dog's eye view and search around the garden looking for bones. No two games are the same, which is fantastic. Secondly, and my favourite of the two, is where the dog puts on a jet pack and has to deliver and collect bones to dogs in windows. The better you do, the faster you can go! Rollerball basic skills was designed to be played online, and is a children's title which contains simple mini games. Journeys through Victorian London is one of my favourite information cd-i discs. You can either select chapters to watch or let the disc play through. SO MUCH info on here, with great accompanying visuals.
1998 seems like yesterday to me! i remember when I heard the Lost Ride was coming out, and couldn't wait to play it. 1997 was a good year for cd-i releases, and I hoped 1998 would be the same. But things were winding down....
[Thanks, Alan]
