More Japanese CD-i titles! A lot of music and art CD-i titles were translated by Japan Interactive Media

Thanks to the Interactive Dreams network, we can show you an exclusive view on Japanese CD-i titles. While Japan is a land of videogames, having multimedia/reference titles focused on music and art on home consoles was quite a unique experience and that why Japan Interactive Media put a lot of focus on these titles instead of hardcore gaming. The Philips Media of America joint venture published a variety of CD-i discs in Japan, focusing on kids titles, reference and art titles. Just as in America and Europe, Philips was convinced its multimedia standard offered a unique genre on your television. It was only after 1994 that games got a lot more attention as Philips experienced games sold better and were far more profitable. For Japan this was a bit too late, as the final japanese CD-i games were put on the market in 1994.
