While Philips has transformed so heavily into a health technology company, it hasn't stopped them from licensing their old product categories to those who are willing to try. I find it remarkable to read that Philips in 2019 is about to release new PC peripherals: A gaming keyboard and and a gaming mouse. The only reason they do this is 1. to earn money of course but 2. because of the history Philips has in this category, including amBX, PC's, CD-i and so on. While these products are not developed by Philips anymore, they are licensed products with the Philips brand on it. This time, these products are developed by Shenzhen Youyuan Hongye Electronic in China, who holds the license to produce Philips branded PC accessories. Still the fact that you can buy gaming products by Philips in 2019 sounds strange in my ears, knowing how much Philips has changed, sold or stopped all audio/video activities and what is left in 2019 of such a company that brought the world the CD, CD-i, DCC and many more great inventions.
