CD-i member TwBurn showed what seemed impossible on CD-i for a long time: He created a full-fletched CD-i game from scratch. Without being a former CD-i developer, he sure is a quick learner: Except from Rastersoft's Frog Feast on CD-i (and perhaps Super Quartet which was based on its source code), nobody managed to do that. Of course he is grateful to see that one of the CD-i members is truely a walking encyclopedia: CD-i Fan, the creator of CD-i Emulator: Without him this project was not where it is right now. Anyway, TwBurn now feels the game is close to completion. He is currently looking for a few close play testers to see if he has not overlooked something. TwBurn assures the game will be open-source in the near future, so any other aspiring CD-i developer can use the code and learn from it to develop their own CD-i game.

In the final version he added coins to collect, enemies to avoid and over 20 levels to play, with a total playthrough time of 1-2 hours, depending on skill. He already tested it on real CD-i hardware as well, but of course there are more CD-i models that might run into specific errors. About the upcoming physical CD-i release he sais: "First I want to have it tested a bit more, see if things need fixing before I make a final build. I've been looking into options for a nice physical release, and plan to explore that a bit more."

[Thanks, TwBurn]
