Which Philips CD-i players were also put on the market as Magnavox CD-i players?

The most reliable overview of CD-i hardware is, we think, available at ICDIA. It gives an overview of CD-i players which have been put on the market by Philips, LG and other manufacturers (=non-Philips). Something that is not mentioned specifically is Magnavox and the players that were released under the Magnavox brand. Magnavox was/is a 100% Philips brand at that time (still is as part of a licensing deal) and it was a better known brand in USA compared to the Philips brand at the time of CD-i. Especially the videogame-market was more familiar with the Magnavox brand because of the history of the Odyssey console. For these reasons, Philips released several players under the Magnavox brand in USA as well as in Europe. In Europe, Magnavox was mainly used as a b-brand, focused on a lower budget (just like Aristona). Which players were released under the Magnavox brand? Let's have a look:

1. Magnavox CD-i 450 / 550 player

This player, a direct copy of the Philips CD-i 450 model, was available in Europe and USA. The CD-i 550 was marketed as a CD-i 450 model including the Digital Video Cartridge being already installed.

2. Magnavox CD-i 9000 player / Magnavox CD-i 5000 player

We've seen various packaging deals by Magnavx selling a CD-i 9000 and CD-i 5000 player, which are in fact about the same model as the CD-i 450 and 550. The packaging will mention either a CD-i 9000 or a CD-i 5000, but inside there is always a CD-i 450 model.

3. Magnavox CD-i 200 player

This model is a lot more rare compared to the CD-i 450 model branded as Magnavox. It is a direct copy of the CD-i 210 model by Philips.

Who found another Magnavox CD-i player?

[Thanks, David & Jo]
